Recent observations and simulations suggest that the double degenerate, ultracompact binary sys- tems V407 Vul (RX J1914.4+2457) and HM Cnc (RX J0806.3+1527) represent the only two binary white-dwarf systems that exhibit Algol-like direct impact behavior. In this paper, we provide pre- liminary results from a simulation of the direct impact accretion model using PLUTO, a numerical hydrodynamics code. Our results consist of a qualitative, two-dimensional representation depicting a ballistic accretion stream directly striking the atmosphere of a close primary white dwarf.
