The Sub-Millimeter Radiometer (SMR) instrument aboard the Odin satellite has been measuring O3, ClO, HNO3 and N2O within the frequency band 480-580 GHz in the entire stratosphere by using limb sounding for more than one year, together with molecules like H2O and CO both in the stratosphere and mesosphere. Preliminary results focussing on stratospheric ozone, ClO, HNO3 and N2O will be presented. SMR measurements will be compared to a great variety of data sets : the OSIRIS instrument installed aboard the Odin satellite measures ozone absorption in the spectral ranges 300-340 and 400-700 nm, providing vertical profiles from 20 to 60 km; the UARS/MLS instrument especially powered on in August 2001 will provide O3 and ClO; ground-based instruments belonging to the Network for the Detection of Stratospheric Change (NDSC) will produce O3 profiles; and a specifically-dedicated balloon campaign BALODIN will produce a great quantity of vertical profiles for numerous molecules. A great effort will be given to the comparisons with model outputs from the three-dimensional Chemical Transport Model REPROBUS and first studies on assimilation of three-dimensional O3 and N2O fields will finally be presented.
