A new approach to the precise computation of the magnetic field of a solenoid is presented. Applications of this method may include MRI imaging, beam design, plasma confinement devices, and any other device in which precise computation of the magnetic field in an extended region of space is required. The general approach is to model the field as a superposition of a straight uniform field inside the solenoid and the fields of two disks uniformly charged with monopoles. Details and methods of computation will be presented.
