A stellar system model that verifies the collisionless Boltzmann equation and the ellipsoidal hypothesis for the distribution of peculiar velocities of the stars is considered on the basis of the theory developed by Chandrasekhar (1942). The potential for such a model in a stationary state with point axial symmetry and with an equatorial plane of symmetry is determined. A spherical term which corresponds to the potential created inside a homogeneous sphere appears, accounting for the contribution of the galactic halo.
