The motion of systems consisting of two self-gravitating bodies with comparable masses is examined in the framework of an expanded variant of the parameterized post-Newtonian formalism. It is shown that the dynamical characteristics of the two bodies in motion depend significantly on the post-Newtonian parameter theta. A method for determining this parameter from data obtained in a study of the PSR1913+16 pulsor system is discussed.
