The paper explores the possibility of a semiannual variation of the constant of gravitation, which can be derived from the formula for the Einstein value of the gravitational redshift of the Lyman continuum of the hydrogen atom in the solar spectrum, in conjunction with the aphelion-to-perihelion variation of the solar-terrestrial gravitational potential difference. Equations are derived for the aphelion and perihelion points of the earth's orbit.
