We propose, on the basis of positional correlation, the possible association of 8 EGRET unidentified galactic plane sources with Wolf-Rayet stars having strong stellar winds. The probability of a chance positional association (within <=1°) of an EGRET sources with one of the 160 WR stars in the galaxy works out to be ~10-4. We also discuss the likely origin of these gamma rays from progenitor particles accelerated by the strong Wolf-Rayet wind.
