On the basis of new high-resolution laboratory reflectance spectra,
variations in the wavelength position of the 506 nm feature seen in
reflectance spectra of Vesta, vestoids, and HED meteorites may be due to
variations in plagioclase feldspar abundances rather than changes in
pyroxene composition.
