The equilibrium electrostatic charge of particles of lunar soil as a
function of altitude above the lunar hydrogen surface is obtained. The
results indicate that within the altitudes z = 6 cm above the lunar
surface, the electrostatic charge of these particles is negative, thus
making negligible the electrostatic erosion mechanism on this surface.
