The antiparticle of the electron. It has the same mass as the electron but carries unit positive charge (1.602×10-19 coulomb). Like the electron, it has a spin of 1/2 (in units of the Planck constant, h, divided by 2π) but when an electron-positron pair is created, the positron will have the opposite spin to the electron. Electron-positron pairs can be produced from high-energy gamma-ray photons....
