A position difference of 0.41 arcsec is found between the 3C446 radio source and its optical counterpart. Consequently, a strongly variable optical object, classified as a BL Lac object, cannot be a counterpart of the 3C446 radio source. A difference of about 0.3 arcsec is found between positions of the optical object in two phases of brightness. It is suggested that in this phase there are two optical objects. Similar behavior was observed in optical counterparts of the 3C273 and 2200+420 BL Lac radio sources.
