In the present evolutionary population-synthesis models for the star-formation processes in starburst regions both solar Z and solar Z/10 evolutionary tracks are used to accommodate the general metal deficiency of starburst galaxies. The three parameters synthesized are the Si IV/C IV UV absorption line ratio characterizing the cluster's massive stars, the ratio of the WR(bump) to the H-beta luminosity tracing the WR stars, and the FIR luminosity relating to the extinction due to cluster dust. The stars appear to have formed simultaneously, with a mass spectrum whose slope is in the range (1,2) for massive stars.
