Results are presented for simultaneous high-temporal-resolution observations of the spectrum (from 180 to 220 MHz) and polarization (at 204 MHz) of a solar noise storm that occurred in June 1972. The polarization structure of separate bursts and chains of type I bursts is analyzed. The spectral and polarization properties of individual bands in split chains of type I bursts are compared. It is concluded that (1) bursts with an invariant degree of polarization near the intensity maximum were typical of the investigated storm, (2) the polarization properties of both components of split chains are identical, and (3) most noise storms similar to the present one contain a burst component with only one sign of polarization.
