Observations of the four pulsars PSR 0823+26, PSR 1706-16, PSR 1929+10, and PSR 2021+51 were obtained at 1.710 MHz using the Effelsberg 100-m radio telescope in single-pulse detection mode with various time resolutions. The polarization properties of the pulsars are investigated. The maximum total intensity Imax and rms deviation sigma = sqrt[(x_i^2) - (x_i)^2] were determined for each individual pulse, where xi is the total noise intensity measured off the pulse. The ratio q = I_max/sigma is calculated, and individual radio pulses grouped according to their q values. Mean profiles for the total intensity, linearly polarized signal, and circularly polarized signal, as well as the run of the polarization position angle, were constructed for selected groups. The width of the mean profiles for the total intensity and linear polarization decrease with increasing q. In addition, the run of the polarization position angle changes with q. Each pulsar also has individual properties that depend on q.
