It is shown analytically that the strong linear polarization of the radio emission from the pulsar PSR 0833-45 may be due to the influence on radio propagation of an ultrarelativistic magnetically active plasma in its magnetosphere. A model of a pulsar magnetosphere is presented which demonstrates that such a plasma can serve as a polaroid for radio emission in the case of quasi-transverse propagation. The parameters of the plasma in the magnetosphere of PSR 0833-45 are estimated by applying this polarization mechanism.
