Green line monochromatic images of the last limb corona were recorded with a Lallemand electronic camera during the June 1973 total solar eclipse in Mauritania. The polarization rate and direction from 1 to 2 solar radii were measured on two different set of plates. In spite of poor weather conditions, three short exposure plates were satisfactorily recorded and gave polarization data to 1.5 solar radii with a resolution of 20 seconds. The data show the rather homogeneous morphology of the last corona observed in white light. The polarization direction is mainly radial and the polarization rate is rather high. In locations with higher density (above filaments close to the limb) the polarization direction emphasizes white light structures and the polarization rate is similar to values previously obtained for medium activity regions. The low structure contrast against background does not allow magnetic field study on a small scale.
