A mechanism is proposed which can enhance one of the Zeeman circular-polarization components of 1665-MHz emission from OH masers associated with H II regions. It is shown that in a medium with a small velocity gradient (about 0.2 km/s per AU) and a magnetic field of about 0.005 G, the OH-molecule spins will be slightly polarized as a result of polarizing pumping by the IR line wing. Other reasons for enhancement of one of the Zeeman-component modes are considered, and an argument in favor of the Zeeman interpretation is presented on the basis of observational data.
