Two examples of spectral diagrams of some important type IV bursts are presented. The diagrams, based on data at seven different frequencies, take into account the sense of circular polarization. From these and similar diagrams, several conclusions are reached: (1) the idealized polarization structure exhibiting purely e- and o-mode predominances for the type IVmu/mA and type IVdm/mB components, respectively, does not yet seem to be sufficiently proved; (2) in complicated type IV events, there are changes of the degree and reversals of the sense of circular polarization in frequency and time which are linked with structures of the flux pattern but do not simply repeat these structures.
