The properties that may be characteristic of the class of polarized stars are discussed, and some candidates for membership in this class are listed. Polarimetry reveals no circular polarization above about 0.3% in EM Cyg, UX UMa, WZ Sge, and V Sge. However, MV Lyr does exhibit variable circular (no more than about 4%) and linear (no more than about 1.5%) polarization. Spectroscopic observations of this star show that the effect of disappearing emission lines is present. It is suggested that MV Lyr may be a polarized star.
