Polarimetric observations of the symbiotic star R Aqr in the U, B, V, R,
I wavelength bands are discussed. The polarization in the R, I bands may
indicate that the radiation of the cool component is scattered in a dust
cloud. The observed variability of the polarization may reflect changes
in the effective scattering angle due to the orbital motion.
