Results of measurements of the depth Pmin of the negative branch on the phase polarization curve are presented for the asteroids 147, 217, 325, 347, and 796. According to values of Pmin and U-V, four of them belong to the M-type and one, 147 Protogenea, belongs to the C-type or another low-albedo type. It is shown that M-type asteroids differ from other ones in the value range of the parameter Pmin x pv (albedo), forming a certain sequence. It is proposed that this sequence may be connected with different contents of the free metal in the surface layers of M-type asteroids.
