New polarimetric observations of the red semiregular variable star, L2 Puppis, over a period of three years, 1980 - 1982, mostly in intermediate and narrow bands between 0.36 μm and 0.80 μm, are presented. Some wide-band observations from the period 1975 - 1979 are also given. In combination with previously published observations, systematic changes in both the percentage and the direction of polarization with both wavelength and time over a four year period are seen. These variations are especially noteworthy in the atomic line of Ca I 4226 Å and in various TiO bands. The observations are best explained by a combination of photospheric effects, which include a non-uniform distribution of Ca across the stellar disk, and of scattering from grains in an asymmetric cloud about the star, where there is a systematic time variation in grain size with distance from the star.
