UBV polarimetric observations have been obtained for the star, HD 152270, a bright WC7 + O5 spectroscopic binary system. The observations show a phase-locked variation of high amplitude which is explained by the model of electron scattering in a dense co-rotating envelope. The observations permit us to determine a value of 35° for the inclination of the orbital plane. The masses of the components of the system are then obtained: 11 Msun for the WC7 component and 25 Msun for the O5 star. A brief discussion about departures from the model assumptions is also presented.
