A linear and parabolic regression analysis of parameters of the negative polarization and photometric characteristics of the moon, in conjunction with a principal-component analysis, has found only two statistically significant principal components. Of these, the first is primarily determined by albedo, and the second is controlled by several negative-polarization parameters. Attention is given to relationships between polarimetric and photometric parameters. A common origin is established for the negative polarization and the opposition effect, and correlations are found between some polarimetric-parameter color ratios and the color index.
