The UV excess from highly ionized elements in the high-excitation Herbig-Haro objects is discussed. It is proposed that it can be explained if a sheath is formed in the object, with heating in excess of ordinary shock wave calculations. Such a sheath could be the result of dynamo interaction between a Herbig-Haro cloudlet and a magnetized stellar wind, with a transverse magnetic field of the order of 0.1 mGauss.
