Some selected results from the scientific experiments on the recent
Pioneer missions to Venus are reviewed, with particular emphasis on data
from the infrared remote sensing experiment on the orbiter. Various
aspects of the structure, dynamics and energy budget of the atmosphere,
as revealed by the measurements, are presented for discussion.
