Observations of the H II regions of the Perseus arm are used to develop bidimensional isoratio maps which define elemental abundances of the H II regions. Forbidden O III/H-beta, He/H-beta, and O II/H-beta intensity ratios are calculated and marked enhancements of the first two are noted near the border. Comparisons with a model for the variation of the ratios across the nebula reveal no heavy element overabundances. A suggestion is made that the enhanced ratios are caused by a relative decrease of H-beta emission in the outer parts due to a lack of matter in the density-bounded champagne flow observed there, and are not due to the presence of dust grains.
