We present a white dwarf spectral evolution model featuring a realistic treatment of Hydrogen-Helium mixing and a self-consistent boundary condition. A parameter study on initial mass of hydrogen layer and ISM accretion rate is done with the intention of explaining the observed correlations between white dwarf effective temperature and spectral type. e.g. Bergeron, Ruiz and Leggett (1997).
