An analysis of fully sampled maps in the CS J = 2-1 and 3-2 lines over a 90 x 90 deg region indicates that the molecular gas surrounding IRAS 1629A is in a modified Keplerian motion around this object. Data are consistent with the excitation of the CS self-absorption, and the NH3 rotation temperature of the IRAS 1629A molecular envelope is close to the dust temperature. A CS/H2 abundance ratio of 4 x 10 to the -9th is implied. The present data for the parent cloud are consistent with the picture of a thick rotating disk in approximate hydrostatic equilibrium with the turbulent pressure of the gas, and with a steep density gradient with radius inferred. An upper kinematic mass limit for the embedded object of about 2.3 solar masses inside R of about 8 x 10 to the 15th cm is found which is consistent with a total luminosity of about 27 solar luminosities.
