Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) whose associated surface activity and photospheric magnetic fields were well observed have been selected to examine: 1) whether or not there are large-scale magnetic compositions which can be considered as CME parent magnetic structures 2) what type of vector magnetic field evolution characterizes the magnetic changes in the site where the CMEs were driven and initiated. In this talk the early results of this investigation are summarized. We tentatively categorize the CME-associated magnetism into two aspects: a large-scale CME parent structure whose magnetic flux and frozen-in plasma become CMEs when erupted and a rather small-scale CME-driven region within the CME parent structure where the large-scale structure was driven to erupt.
