Two approaches for the description of pion photo-and electroproduction on nucleons in the resonance energy region up to W=2 GeV are tested using multipole amplitudes of the GWU(VPI) partial-wave analysis of photoproduction data. The approaches are based on dispersion relations and modified version of MAINZ unitary isobar model and incorporate the information on high-energy behaviour of photoproduction data.
