A description is presented of a preliminary study of the statistical and temporal correlation properites of stellar scintillation, taking advantage of the fast response time and high sensitivity of equipment which is currently widely used for laser light-scattering applications. A normalized intensity correlation function of scintillations in light received from Sirius is presented in a graph and a probability distribution of photon detection is shown. The non-Gaussian nature of the observed fluctuations is discussed.
