A method is studied whereby photometry of television photographs of meteors is performed by measuring the cross-sectional diameter of a meteor train on a negative. Meteor brightness losses due to the velocity of motion across the image-converter photocathode are analyzed. Results obtained from an investigation of the light curves of faint meteors are discussed which show that these light curves differ from those of bright meteors. In shutter photographs of faint meteors obtained using a television system, it is found that intense brightening of a meteor train occurs in the gaps formed by the shutter blades.
