Photometric and spectral data for globular clusters in M 31 are used to study the color excess ratio and the ratio of total to selective extinction (R). The value of the color excess ratio is higher than that in the Galaxy and is dependent on the clusters' integral spectral type. The data reveal that the ratio R is smaller than the galactic one and is about 2.7. The results reveal that the laws of light absorption in the optical region of the spectrum in the Galaxy and M 31 are significantly different.
