We present new photometric periods for two Be/X-ray pulsars in the SMC using MACHO and OGLE-II data. The sources are XMM J005152.2-73102 (also known as SMC 25) with Ppulse=172.2 s and CXOU J010102.7-720658 with Ppulse=304.5 s. The optical counterparts of both X-ray sources are known Be stars in the SMC.
For XMM J005152.2-73102 we find P=69.9 days, which is likely to be the orbital period of the binary system. The OGLE-II data show recurring outbursts lasting about 0.2P, with an amplitude of ˜0.02-0.03 mag. This is similar to orbital outbursts seen in other Be/X-ray binaries.
The longterm optical light curve for CXOU J010102.7-720658 shows pronounced non-radial pulsations (NRP) near 0.26 days. Like other Be stars with NRP, the period and phasing change slightly with time. A possible orbital period of 520 days is suspected, but further data are needed to confirm this.
