We are involved in a long-term project to study 8 faint, possible dSph galaxies with Washington & Stromgren filters. Our sample of new, ultra-faint dwarf spheroidal systems, discovered as stellar over-densities in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (DR5), are at distances from about 23-210 kpc. The present work centers on observations of CVn II (160 kpc). We discuss the age and metallicity of this system, and compare it to Bootes I, our test case. We find that the vby filters give a more-accurate metallicity estimate than the Washington filters for the RGB stars, but that very long exposures are necessary in the v-band to obtain useful data at the main-sequence turn-off, which limits their usefulness at distances over 100 kpc.
