A critical aspect of the realization of the Second Guide Star Catalog is its photometric calibration, which must rely on the availability of deep standard photometric sequences taken near the center of each Schmidt survey plate. For this reason, STScI and OATo are building an extension to the original Guide Star Photometric Catalog (GSPC-II) with the two-fold purpose of adding the R band sequence to calibrate the current epoch survey and extend the flux limit of the calibrations closer to the plate limits. The GSPC-II program is presently approaching completion, with 88% of the total number of targets already being secured, thanks to the support of 1-meter class telescopes such as the CTIO and the ESO-Dutch in the south and the KPNO in the north. Of these sequences, a sub-set of 624 (covering both hemispheres) with a ~ 7% mag accuracy at B=V=R=19 mag are currently being released to the astronomical community. At this point, 36 GSPC-II targets visible from the south still need to be imaged, while 70 southern fields need re-observations because of poor photometric quality. In order to image all the fields visible in this semester, we propose to split the observing time in two periods, one in February and one in July.
