New photoelectric observations of DO Cas in B and V were obtained in 1984 employing the 35 cm reflector at the Yunnan Observatory. A total of 583 individual observations in blue, and 590 individual observations in yellow were performed during 7 nights. The mass ratio was determined using the Wilson and Devinney method. Its value of 0.397 is close to the value of 0.44 published by Cerster et al. (1977) using Wood method. It is shown that DO Cas is a semidetached system and that the more massive primary component fills its Roche lobe. Change of the period of DO Cas is found to alternate with a period about 25 years. It is concluded that DO Cas is a binary exchanging mass from the more massive primary to secondary.
