The authors report partial and total photoionization cross sections as well as the asymmetry parameter for ionization of the 2σg, 2σu, and 1πu orbitals of the ground X 1Σg+ state of the carbon molecule C2, which is found in a variety of astrophysical environments. The calculations were performed in the frozen-core, Hartree-Fock approximation.
