Five open clusters (Ru 77, Ru 78, Ru 83, Pi 16 and Ba 20) in the Vela II field have been investigated photometrically in the RGU-system. Only Pi 16 has already been investigated (Moffat and Vogt, 1973) and Ba 20 has not even been identified as a physical group before. The photometric parameters (distance, reddening and earliest spectral type) are put together in table I. Ru 77, Pi 16 and Ba 20 have earliest spectral types not later than b 3 they can, therefore, be considered as spiral arm indicators for the next inner spiral arm-I. Figure 11 shows the position of the five clusters projected onto the galactic plane.
