In March-June 1986 we carried out photoelectric photometry of the short-period binary star AX Dra in Strömgren's uvby bands and in Hβ. Results of analysis show the binary to be a near-contact detached system with a photometric mass ratio q= 0.775+/-0.007. The spectral type of the main component is F1, while that of the secondary is probably K3. The orbital period is rather stable. The main component is probably at the evolutionary stage of having expanded to nearly filling its Roche lobe.
