In this paper the authors give a complete review of present theoretical ideas concerning the eclipsing binary V 448 Cygni. Particularly, some views on gaseous streams in the system and its evolutionary status are discussed. The results of a detailed analysis of three-colour photoelectric observations of V 448 Cygni obtained at the Abastumani astrophysical observatory and its compare with available spectral one are presented. It is suggested that solutions to the obtained U B V light curves with modern methods may give more accurate values of the elements of the system and consequently more exact model of this star.
