It is shown that azimuth wavenumbers of MHD waves measured near the equatorial plane of the magnetosphere and numbers measured for corresponding waves of geomagnetic pulsations on the earth's surface should differ. The difference is due to the azimuth dependence of the time of propagation of an MHD disturbance from the equatorial plane to the earth's surface.
