Three Body Problem, Perturbations, Phenomena Near To Resonance

Scientific paper

The paper presents analytical formulae of the long-period perturbations of the third and fourth order in the Hamiltonian of the nonrestricted problem of three bodies with comparable masses, in which the distance between two of the bodies is much smaller than the distance of either from the third. It is shown that phenomena close to resonances 1:1, 3:1, 2:1, and 4:2 may occur. In this case the perturbed solution may differ significantly from the unperturbed, and the terms of higher orders in the Hamiltonian must be taken into account.
