Cosmological perturbation equations in the Robertson-Walker background applicable to some classes of generalized gravity theories, including multicomponent fluids and fields, are presented. The equations are expressed in a form which does not depend on the frame, and the adaptation of the equations into a particular gauge or into some gauge-invariant formulation becomes trivial. A generalization of formalism applicable to a variety of generalized gravity theories, including most of the gravity theories with scalar field and scalar curvature combination, is developed.
