This paper investigates the hypothesis that periodic atmospheric
variations on the planet Jupiter take place within discrete bands and
zones. Observations made over a six year period of four large bands
indicate that while most atmospheric disturbances remained confined to
specific zones, the bands themselves often bend and shift position.
