Following the Zafiropoulos and Kopal (1983a, b) investigations of the effects of rotational and tidal distortion for nonlagging tides on the orbital elements of a close binary system, secular and periodic perturbations caused by dynamical tides are considered. Three components of disturbing accelerations for tidal lag have been substituted in the Gaussian form of Lagrange's planetary equations in order to give the first-order approximation. The results obtained are expressed by Hansen coefficients and include the effects produced by the second, third and fourth harmonic dynamical tide.
