The history of mainly unsuccessful searches for the periodic comet Biela 1852 III or its remains is reviewed, and the results of recent computations of its possible orbit are summarized. Orbital elements for the perihelion passage predicted by Nakano (1983) for April 10, 1985, and ephemeris data for January-August 1985, are given in tables, and further searches using photographic instruments are recommended.
