Using Doppler-shift data from the moving-line spectra of SS 433 collected over 6 yr, the authors find that the secular changes in the precessional period and cone angle can be approximated with a simple analytic form. This significantly reduces the errors in the fit to the data, allowing a more accurate ephemeris to be calculated and improved limits on the orbital-period changes and light-time effects to be determined.
