The Stochastic Self-Propagating Star Formation (SSPSF) model [1], for self-regulating star formation based on a percolation process mitigated by supernova shocks, has been very successful in producing quantitative agreement with observations [2] when a Spiral Density Wave (SDW) has been a part of the imposed potential. It has been noted that many Spirals have a significant central bar. In this paper we extend the model to examine whether a barred potential alone is sufficient to produce long-lived spirals in the presence of propagating star formation.
